Husband’s Current Adventure.

My Darling Husband, John, is now in Australia. He is about to ride the perimeter of Australia to raise money for British Airways Charity, Flying Start.

This whole week has certainly been one of extraordinary challenges, none of which I needed. However, as it happened, it turned out that they were all incredible blessings in disguise.

Things such as programming issues that were taking an inordinate amount of time led to me discovering a whole raft of mistakes that had been made.

An overweight bike led me to discovering a serious steering issue that I was unaware of until I felt it when I came to a hill that was too steep, also with loose shale surface, for me to ride up.

I also had a minor accident when someone came rather close to me

I had also inadvertently taken an incorrect turn that took me to a small town (Monbulk), where I thought there was no chance of a bicycle shop being there. However, not only was there a bicycle shop, it was also open – on a Sunday in a small country town, at that. Wow!

They soon discovered the fault, but didn’t have the correct replacements in stock.

To keep a long story short. The bike is still in the bike shop, while I have returned to the home of my amazing hosts (Robert O’gorman & Karen O’Gorman), who came to my rescue. So I shall be starting off on my ride again on Tuesday morning, sometime.
