Intercession for St. Mary’s Service, Sunday, 10th October 2021
For Sunday, 10th October 2021

Isaiah 65:24 It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer;
And while they are still speaking, I will hear.
Loving Father,
as we pray we know you hear and answer.
The Church of Christ: Omnipotent Creator God, through Jesus, we have been invited to come boldly to your thrown. We come as children, secure in your love, fearless to ask for your grace. We pray for the Church. Bless pastors, elders, Bible teachers, evangelists, and missionaries with inspiration, peace, and creativity. Bless our brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted for Jesus’ sake. Give them courage and strength.
Creation, Human society, the sovereign, and those in authority: We live in a broken and troubled world. The natural world is plagued by the results of human carelessness, greed, and selfishness. The people in the world look to government leaders for answers. So, we pray for them. Give them practical and accessible solutions to guide us in repairing our environment. Continue to bless and sustain our Queen, Elizabeth, and her family. Bless all who serve our country—Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, local and country police, doctors, nurses, and all public servants.
The Local Community: Guide us, as Your children, to those who are in need in our community. Let us be your comfort to the grieving. Show us how to share your loving concern to the homeless, the hurting, the lonely, and all who have been affected by having their benefits cut. Teach us how to be good neighbours. Bless the children who daily attend school. Thank you for the many businesses and shopkeepers who provide commodities and services that enrich our lives.
Those Who Suffer: We rejoice in our ability to once again meet as a church family, even though Covid-19 is still affecting the lives of everyone in our parish. We pray for peace of mind in the midst of continued uncertainty. Jesus, You paid the price for our healing on the cross. Touch all who are ill. We also pray for broken families, those affected by crime, the loss of a child through illness, divorce, financial breakdown, sickness, and circumstances beyond their control. We pray for families torn apart because of Parental Alienation. We pray for restoration, restitution, and reconciliation
The Communion of Saints: We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, who have gone before us. As we remember them, we look forward to the day of our reunion with them. Until that time, help us to live in such a way that brings all honour and glory to You.
Merciful Father, Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.
